Podcasts

For the past year or so I have been really getting into listening to podcasts.  I like to listen to them for entertainment, for strength and conditioning education and for business education.

Some of my favorites are:

The Staley and English Show featuring Coach Kurtz

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-staley-and-english-show-podcast/id1287792428?mt=2

Obviously, I am biased about this podcast because I am a regular on it.  However, I think it hits on a lot of topics that coaches, athletes and parents have to deal with while trying to become the best at getting better.

Basketball Lifestyle:

The Road Trippin’ Podcast with Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/road-trippin-with-rj-channing/id1195897108?mt=2

This podcast is hilarious and it gives an insight into the Cleveland Cavaliers and an inside look into some of the players lives.  It is very entertaining, however the bad news is Richard Jefferson was released from the team this summer and I’m not sure what is going to happen with their podcast this season.  Side note, myself and Coach Meagher of Oak Hill are planning to start a podcast called “The Athlete Life” which will be an off spin of the Cavs’ podcast with an Oak Hill spin!  I’ll keep you updated when we start releasing them.

Faith Based Podcasts:

Living on the edge with Chip Ingram

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/living-on-the-edge-with-chip-ingram-daily-podcast/id271206562?mt=2

This is a great daily podcast where Chip shares bible based views on topics ranging from marriage, raising kids, overcoming emotional struggles and much more…

Strength and Conditioning Podcasts:

Iron Game Chalk Talk

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/iron-game-chalk-talk-with-ron-mckeefery/id734140819?mt=2

On this podcast Ron McKeefery interviews strength and conditioning professionals from around the world.  The podcasts are usually pretty short and concise and packed with great information for coaches and athletes.

Lastly, I was recently interviewed for the NSCA’s Coaching Podcast and if you are interested in becoming a high school strength coach, it’s definitely worth a listen!

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/nscas-coaching-podcast/id1213481588?mt=2&i=393894611

Like I said, I’ve become really interested in listening to podcasts, especially on my daily commute, so if any of you have any suggestions I’d love to hear them!

Thanks and if you are starting basketball season Monday Good Luck!!!!
